O’Brien in remembrance of General President Emeritus James R. Hoffa: “James R. Hoffa was a great man and legendary labor leader who transformed the lives of all Teamsters and Americans. He fought tirelessly for strong wages, benefits, and protections that lifted millions of workers into the middle class. “Hoffa was fearless in taking on greedy employers to secure groundbreaking national contracts. He is recognized for turning the Teamsters Union into an international powerhouse, bringing dignity and respect to the working class. This no doubt made him the eventual target of evil forces.
